The people at this hotel are so nice and make you feel right at home..The bar at this hotel has some really great food and drinks...The security at this hotel is really great also..I must say that i am mos def coming back to Negril jamaica and when i do..I will be staying at this hotel:)

This is my second stay at White Sands and I love it! It is clean, close to everything, no frills and worth the money. We had excellent access to the beach, nightlife, vendors, downtown, and we paid 75% less than what you would spend at an all inclusive. They clean everyday. We did not use the pool but the beach is right there! Security is excellent. There is a fridge and if you are staying for a week or more I would suggest taking a taxi into town and going to Hi-Lo to get groceries and souvenirs, we bought bottles of Jamaican Hot sauce and jerk sauce for * or less per bottle and plan to give them out as souvenirs;. The bar has daily specials. We did not frequent the resturuant as it closes at 3pm. For breakfast, Selina's offers fresh American and Jamaican breakfast for cheap. Excellent eggs and banana pancakes. For dinner we ate at the Sweet Spot/Shack for dinner FIVE days in a row. For about * dollars a person we got a fullmeal of rice/peas, cabbage, and a cold drink with freshly made seafood, chicken dishes, or veggies. Go early! They close at 9pm but it is so good and reasonable they run out of food items early. By far some of the best Jamaican food I have had in all my travels there. Use the safety box offered at the office to store passports, etxra cash, etc. BRING PLENTY OF BUG SPRAY!!! They have sandflieswith bites that are worse than any mosquitoes. Bring planty of singles. The employees of the White Sands do such a great job it was actually a joy to tip them. We left * a day for our houesekeeper and gave beach security the same . Love White SAnds!

I just stayed here last weekend for July4th weekend. The location is great but rooms are basic no phone, tv a few ants running close to the outside door. There is basic shower, an basic bed and old refrigerator. If you will not be in the room and want beach and location it will work well with you. The only amenity at the hotel is small bar at the beach and the beach itself which is the same beach as any expensive resort. The folks at the reception are bored and are ok but not excite dto do the job or help you. X at the bar is fun and is great barternder. I actually would add $30 per meal and see if when you add the difference if you would rather stay in an all inclusive resort. for $60-$90 more per day you can stay at one of the Riu resorts.

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy Jamiaca, this is it. The rooms are nice and clean and the grounds on the garden side are beautiful. We loved the fact that there were no TV's or phones in the room. That made it nice and quiet, during the time in our room to use our ""imaginations"" to keep us busy Lol. The balcony was nice and big and we enjoyed sitting out on it in the mornings and late at night. The location is great and right in the middle of everything when you walk out onto the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great time the six days that we were there and will be back soon.

We spent a week at White Sands in April and had a wonderful time. If you are looking for fancy, White Sands is not for you. BUT the staff was very accommodating, the room was comfortable, the beach was clean and the people we met were very friendly. No need to go into town - we had everything we needed. We met many returning guests who had nothing but great things to say about White Sands and we totally agree. Many great restaurants along the beach area, great food and great people. You can be sure we will return - soon, I hope!
