I stayed in Aug 09, and loved it. It was right on the sea wall, and the room was awesome. They were large and nicely redone, I guess from hurricane Ike. Comfy beds, fresh paint, tiled floors in the bathroom, granite countertops. The only negative was the AC didn't completely cool the room. We told the font desk and maintenance showed up within minutes. They offered to replace the unit, but we opted for a fan, which kept the very large room cool enough to sleep comfortably.

Hotel is near the beach, that's good. Room was kind of dirty, dirtier than most hotels I've stayed at. I don't normally wear shoes in my room, but after the bottoms of my feet turned black from the carpet I considered altering that policy. I booked three nights, but after two had run out of things to do in Galveston; when I asked about checking out early I was told I would not get a refund for the unused night. That's the hotel's right I suppose, but typically establishments are willing to waive those charges in the name of good customer relations. I guess they knew I wouldn't be staying with them again.

Pleasant Stay
08/15/2009Good location - beach across the street, close to resturants and grocery store. clean, comfortable room. everything in the room worked well. friendly and helpful staff. breakfast could be more appealing.

When we checked in there was a funny smell in our room, we though maybe it was because the air was off so we turned up the air and headed off to the beach directly across the street. After a couple of hours we returned and the smell was actually worse so we went down and complained. They told us they didn't have anymore rooms, but they sent someone up to fog the room with air freshener. It did smell alot better so we thought we were all good, however the smell came back in the middle of the night so it was hard to sleep. In the morning we were given a new room and all was well. The rooms are nice and roomy, the bathroom not too small, and the mini fridge and microwave came in handy. All the rooms have at least a partial view of the beach, so I can't complain there. Breakfast was average so we just bought breakfast stuff 2 doors down at Kroger and cooked in our room. Pool is very small, but we weren't there for the pool.
