My husband and I loved this resort sooooooooooo much, that we are planning to go back next year. The resort was pretty, the staff was nice and the food was delicious. Overall, I really enjoyed everything and would recommend others to visit the resort. However, the only 2 things that I didn't like were the sheets in the bedroom (bring your own) and the flies when your eating lunch or dinner outside. Other than that, you should visit.

I did not book this hotel online, but on a corporate junket. The online purchase turned out to be a much better value than Paradisus Palma Real. This hotel attempts to portray itself as a luxury resort. In reality, judging by all of the measurements of a real five-star resort, it fails badly. Here is my analysis: Facilities--Good if you are into wierd statues, grandiose fountains everywhere, lots of needless architectural ornamentation, having your toilet tissue and bed linens folded into a point every night, etc. The layout stunk and you had to walk 1/2 a mile to get anywhere. (good exercise) Food--Horrible in the ""full service"" restaurants. Stick to the cafeteria and the fresh fruit/fish Service--Terrible. Uniformally bad in everything from the wait staff to the bellhops to the conceirge. Any request was regularly ignored. Rooms--Strange. Tiny rooms divided by doors (five small rooms in my suite, which backed up to a major construction site. We awoke to the sounds of hammers every morning. No ice machines worked. Sofa (bed) was lumpy and painful to sit on. Musty damp smells in the room. Amenities--Latin music was piped in everywhere. The Russians at the table next to me spoke loudly to his girlfriend at dinner. Poolside drinking parties organized by the bartenders. Lots of flesh on display at the pool. Price: Poor value by my estimation. Paradisus cost at least twice what we paid for Punta Cana Hotel, which we enjoyed much more and had free internet access. Paradisus wanted $/day. Ambience: Rats seen crossing the walkway between two restaurants. Wait staff seems to be incented to sell high priced drinks. Time-share salespitch promenently displayed eveywhere. Hot tub in the pool did not work. This hotel was gated, but the beach was crowded.

This hotel proved to be a true paradise! Service was on the verge of over indulging, but stopped just short of being invasive. Retaurants were top notch. Not quite 5* by D/FW standards, but certainly way up the scale. Bars were great too - imported drinks, and a good and knowledgeable bar staff. Amenities were good - windsurfing, catamaran, horse riding, snorkelling etc - all great. Golf, scuba, parasailing etc - all available and only a small additional charge, not the full pop you might expect. Good entertainment nights, and decent nightlife. Shopping close by. About 30 mins drive from airport +/- ie, not close, but not in the middle of nowhere. hotels on either side, but beach areas are secluded from other hotels, but accessible for the more outgoing and adventurous. his hotel rates high on our list of places to go for a great getaway, being pampered and beingin a good location. great for adults, but also not bad for families, both customer-types come here. Highly recommend this hotel.

While the hotel is very pretty, this does not excuse the fact that the service at this hotel was anything but helpful. I had many items stolen at this hotel, including one item from my room and one from right outside the door. The hotel also lost my bag. Despite all of the latter problems, the hotel was anything but accomodating and had no sympathy for the same. Not only was nothing done for me but no responsibility was taken for all that happened, I also had problems in my room with the toilet, bathtub and tv. Be wary!!

I loved this resort. It is worth every penny you spend. The grounds are beautiful, food and service was amazing. My friend had her wedding there and it was handled with elegence and style. I highly recommend this resort to anyone. I am definitely going back.
