This hotel is located on the best part of the beach. Its right outside your door! The hotel is very chicly decorated w/ beautiful archetecture. Other reviewers have said the rooms smelled moldy. They do not! They smell like the floors, which are made of some kind of wood. My husband and I thought it smelled nice and earthy. The other complaint was that rooms are dark. Open your freaking windows! There are plenty of windows so that is not a problem. The beds are doubles and are so very cheap and uncomfortable. The pillows suck too. I was w/ my husband and we had 2 double beds that they pushed together for us. There is no queen or king size. They are hard and lumpy w/ only sheets and one thin blanket. The toilet is square and uncomfortable. You have to sit caddycorner on it.The doors to the bathroom are frosted glass and see through. There is no privacy. Every single morning when the sun first begins to shine the construction starts! You will not get any rest in this hotel. Now for the hote'ls restaurant. The food is good. The service is not good. They don't speak english very well and they nickel and dime you. We brought our own tea bags for breakfast and asked for hot water. It seemed like such an inconvenience to them and then they charged us $2.50 each for our own teas. They took it off when we complained. They charged us $5 for a basket of bread that was on the table when we sat down. They have a great lounge musician named Hector at night. The balck beds on the beach rock! This town is so cool! You are paying for atmosphere and location here, not comfort, customer service or ammenities.

My husband and I stayed at the Mosquito Beach for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. Our room was small, but well appointed. Our patio was steps from the beach. We found the service and employees to be quite helpful and friendly. The pool area was beautiful, but very under used, as most people prefer the beds that are put out on the beach for the guests. We saw some of the other larger hotels with tons of lounge chairs in a row on the beach and were thankful we were not part of the all inclusive herd. Overall, the hotel was extremely clean and super retro/modern/chic. I would definitely stay at the Mosquito Beach again. Their sister hotel, Mosquito Blue, was also beautiful but not on the beach. We would consider staying there as well.

Horrible service white sands room has no ocean view as stated staff lets anybody from other hotels use beach chairs for tips chairs very limited, sat next to children drinks TWICE as much as hotel next door Tried to put us in hotel off the beach first night, overbooked, no comp, they came up with a room at last min. but had to move next day. Most guest had to be shuffled. Small, dark rooms with little lighting. Very deceived. Website not correct, No down pillows Could not get extra blankets. Waiters on beach said and made inappropriate remarks and gestures to female guests.
