We spent one night in route to central TX. It was a pleasant experiece. The hotel is new, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was the best of the four we had on the trip. Even the dachshound had a plesant evening.

In general I have had acceptable experiences at Wingates but this was not the case in El Paso. The room was not in good working order (light bulbs missing, shower curtain partially down). I called the front office and when I checked out the items had not been fixed. The fitness center consisted of just 3 cardio exercise units and a weight machine. 2 cardio exercise units were out of order (treadmill and elllipital) and the weight machine was lacking straps for attachments. The hotel did not appear to be that crowded but on two days when I returned to the room after 4pm the room had not been cleaned. In both cases I called the front desk. On the first day it took 45 minutes for someone to come clean the room. On the second day I just asked that they bring fresh towels. After waiting 1.5 hours I called the front desk again and towels were brought to the room within 5 minutes. Overall there are better options at similar price points. I will not stay at this Wingate again.

We came for the Sun Bowl and enjoyed our stay tremendously. Great location right by I-10 easy on and off. Breakfast was a great value for us - fresh, hot waffles in the shape of the State of Texas. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was engaging and helpful when needed. We would stay again and would suggest it to our friends and family. Too cold for the pool but enjoyed the enclosed hot tub and work out space.

07/04/2007Cheap furniture, sloppy construction. grout still on vathroom tile, baseboards not fully attached, etc. etc. maybe they'll fix everything that was done shabbily, but this hotel will be a ...
Cheap furniture, sloppy construction. Grout still on vathroom tile, baseboards not fully attached, etc. etc. Maybe they'll fix everything that was done shabbily, but this hotel will be a mess in a matter of months, everything was so cheap, except the LCD TVs.
