We just returned from our stay at this resort. We initially planned to stay for 6 days, but returned for an additional 2 days at the end of our trip. The resort and beach are beautiful, and staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurants had excellent food and intriguing menu choices. The atmosphere is casual. We appreciated the adults only restriction. Very good drinks at the bars. The rooms are not directly on the beach, but we liked the walk on the jungle path to get to the beach, and saw many iguanas, a coatimundi and capybara. I would return tomorrow if I could.

We just arrived back yesterday from Catalonia Royal Tulum and if top notch service is a priority then this is not the resort for you. If you are self sufficent and want to enjoy crystal clear turquoise waters then this is the place. Our check in process was very smooth, we arrived at 10:11 am and they already had a room ready for us even though it was 2 doubles and we had requested a king. The resort was definitely centered around nature. There is a rock path that takes you through jungle landscaping all throughout the resort. Iguanas, mexican racoons, shell-less anteaters, and birds are to be found everywhere. The pool is very warm in temperature (warmer than bath water). We really missed the swim up bar that we have had at other resorts as CRT does not have one. The hot tubs did not work so the water was cooler than that of the pool. Service definitely was lacking. There was only one waitress for the pool and one for the beach so it could be a long wait for your drinks, if you do not like waiting I suggest you go get them yourself. There was not a lot of top shelf liquors either, mostly domestic, and the beer on tap is Dos Equis. Towels and chairs are plentiful. Housekeeping is slow. Our room did not get cleaned until after 5:30 pm every day. Overall a unique resort that we will consider going back to in October.

Visited this resort March 21-28 2009. Would return here anytime. Fantastic resort. Quiet and peaceful. No pressure to join any activities; just notification that they are about to commence. Clean and well kept grounds; nice to see iguanas, birds and other animals enjoying their native habitat. Rooms clean and well cared for; staff very friendly. Great shower stalls and plenty hot water. Waiters knowledgable about the food served i n the resturants; no buffet for dinner, all al a carte and a great gourmet selection of meals. No reservations required for the a la carte , just show up and there is basically no waiting time. Beach is beautiful, sand all the way into the ocean. One can walk about 20 mins in each direction. Great beach chairs and plenty of shade provided for those who dont want too much sun. Poolside and hot tubs (3) are very relaxing. Nice to find a hotel where one can pick up a beach towel with no card or signature required and an honour system to return same whenever! Snack bar with pizza all day plus hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken ect. make sure that no one is hungry. A nice touch is the fresh fruit juice bar at the beach. Two shops, and usually vendors in the lobby in the evening with handicrafts, jewellery, cigars ect. The only evening entertainment however, is the one hour long show, but quality seemeed reasonable. We only checked it out twice. Would highly recommend this resort. Handicrafts and/or jewellery / cigars usually on sale in the lobby in the evenings. Two shops.

We just got home from a week at the Catalonia Royal Tulem resort. Overall I would say it was an excellent vacation. The rooms were clean and always had fresh towels, never had a problem with temperature control. We asked for a king-size bed and got two doubles, which was not what we wanted but we just pushed them together and it was fine. Also they do not have many outlets in the main area, but again not a big deal. Bathroom and showers were excellent. We were very happy with the food. They have a breakfast and lunch buffet that are very good and the evening meals were very good as well. You had a choice of 4 restaurants and several menu choices from each. This was our 6th year of different all-inclusive resorts and this was by far the best food. The staff was very friendly and very helpful as long as they understood what you wanted, some were better than others at English. The pool was really nice and they had 3 hot tubs that were good. The beach was very nice. Good sand, very few rocks. They need more lawn chairs. We found out our first day that people would come down to the beach at 5:30 am and reserve chairs for the day. Therefore there were not enough to go around. We did the same but it is a stupid game that needs to be changed. There ware shade trees available for when it got really hot, which it did, the weather was great! We never had a problem with security or ever felt threatned whatsoever. People were there from USA, Canada, Europe and all got along just fine. We would go back again without a second thought.

My husband and I came to this resort for our honeymoon. When we got there we were greated by the friendly staff. The food was good, they had a different theme of food every night. The event staff was great. They have a disco bar, theater, and spa. The only negative thing I would have to say is the bed is very hard. I can't wait to go again this Spring. Would recommend to everyone!
