Stayed here in Oct 2009. First class all the way and it deserves five stars. Spacious does not begin to describe the resort view one bedroom suites. They are huge with large balconies overlooking the pool and beach area with a small view of the open water. Ocean view suites are direct ocean front. Suites are beautifully furnished with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, separate bedroom(s) and multiple bathrooms in the suites. You will thoroughly enjoy the large balcony and other Key West architecture details like a French balcony off the bedroom and a widow's walk above many of the top floor balconies. Do rent a suite not a room. The Marriott site says the room has no view and that is correct. You will probably be disappointed with staying in a room but a suite will exceed your expectations and you can make up the price difference by having breakfast and/or lunch in the room. The resort view suite was the same price as a room at the better bed & breakfasts. It is Key West after all and comparing prices to the mainland is futile. You can be absolutely certain you will not find a better price/value hotel on the island. The hotel dining was excellent with prices comparable to similar menus in Key West. I normally avoid hotel restaurants but tried it for dinner based on reviews I read. The food, service, presentation, and ambience were all outstanding. Finally, location. The hotel is ten to fifteen minutes away from Duval Street and the harbor area. As such, it makes a nice break from the crowd and noise found in the prime tourist area. When you are ready to jump back into the crawl, the hotel has a scheduled shuttle service to ease your return.

Although this hotel is not located down by the pier, it is by far the nicest place to stay in Key West. We moved here for one night after staying at another hotel for a night and couldn't have been happier about our decision. The hotel is immaculate, clean and welcoming. The staff is helpful and accomodating. They offer transportation to/from the downtown area and parking is free. The room is large, comfortable and clean. The pool is great and the service and quality of food and drink in the restaurant and pool area was more than I expected. I will not even shop around again the next time I go to Key West. Best hotel there by far.

My trip to Key West was a VERY important trip for me. I was reconnecting with a woman that I hadn't seen in over 30 years. I scored big points with my selection of the Marriott. The setting was very romantic and the staff was more than accommodating. I will definitely go back to the Marriott in Key West.

Nice, new, clean, ok location (too far to walk to Duval). Staff is friendly, no mistakes were made concerning my stay. Hotel provided internet cable for my laptop, hand delivered within 3 minutes of asking. Lots of millipedes but they don't bite, they're just a little disturbing when outside at night. The private balcony is nice. The hotel has a very small beach area (less than 50 feet of sand) and a homeless guy sleeps in the trees right next to the property, so swimming is not really an option here. Beautiful view of sunset if you have a waterfront view. This hotel is geared for the ""room service"" type of traveler - they expect you to call for ice, then tip the deliverer. I did not eat at Tavern & Town, but it smelled very good and had a lot of business on a regular basis. They have an hourly shuttle service to Duval street. Self park at hotel is free, valet is $20/day. Mopeds and bicycles can be rented across the street at the Holiday Inn, and there is a Key West welcome center right next to that. There's a marina just over the causeway to the north that has watersports, fishing charters, and a restaurant - nice people, easy to get there from hotel.
