First of ALL...the staff was excellent; the room is exactly like the picture; jacuzzi in the balcony is great; Portofino, Oceana, and El Patio were great; the rest of the restaurants were average; cheeseburger at Seaside Grill - excellent! Major setbacks: resort ground is SMALL and it is shared with 2 condo buildings....I really felt like I was a someone's condo instead of a resort enjoying my vacation. Water at the beach is clear but brown instead of blue. I think Dreams Resorts are by far my favorite but I do suggest Dreams to drop this location because it is an outlier.

We stayed in a Prefered Club Room. One day into our vacation we requested to change hotels to the Dreams in Puerto Vallarta which is about 45 minutes away from this hotel for a variety of reasons. The concierge understood our request and was able to get us a room change on tuesday, so we did stick it out a few more days. The biggest disappointment was the ocean that this hotel was situated on. The water was not clear & blue like it shows in their photos. Instead the water was brown and cloudy. The reason for this is because there is a large brown mucky river that dumps out into the ocean nearby. The other Dreams had beautiful clear blue water. The service from the waitstaff was so-so and since I am a vegetarian there was very little for me to eat. On two occasions I ordered something that was vegetarian was told they didn't have it. My boyfriend does eat meat and felt that dreams PV had much better food as well. I will say that the concierge put me in contact with the manager of food & beverage to work with me on getting some meals for me at the remainder of my stay at villamanga. Our room was gorgeous, clean, & comfortable. Although the balcony jacuzzi& bathtub in room took forever to fill up, like over an hour. The spa was designed really well, but the services were less than great. It seemed like the massage therapists didn't really know what they were doing. The pools were awesome except every once in awhile there would be kids in the adult pool and no real enforcement of the rules. Overall Dreams VM, had nice pools rooms& decor. Dreams PV- great beach, food,& location. Equal- drinks & staff

After staying at Dreams Cancun last summer, I was extremely disappointed in this resort in Puerto Vallarta. The service was no where near what Cancun was. Extremely long lines at check in and check out. Had to call downstairs for everything from the room service menu to the plug in for the alarm clock. The food left something to be desired on the buffet. And the flies were particularly attracked to me for some reason at every meal. While the entertainment staff seemed like they were trying their best, the resort seemed boring. We even left a day early. One more thing, the drinks were weak. I don't think I should have to ask for Top Shelf Tequilla in Mexico. Know what I mean? On a very positive note, the rooms were really nice, the hot tub on every balcony was great and the air conditioning works! Plus, there were 2 ceiling fans in our room.
