We stayed at both resorts while in St. Thomas for a cruise on the Wind Spirit. Emerald Beach was by far the better resort. The people were very friendly, the room clean and up to date, the drinks were much better, and the food was good. The beach was great with plenty of shade to relax out of the beating sun. It is very close to the airport (you could walk) as well as downtown shopping. The airplanes can be loud, but there are not that many. We would probably stay here again.

We totally enjoyed staying at the Emerald Beach. The Hotel is very nice and a happy place. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff kept our space very clean. They did a good job. However, it seemed they didn't have enough wash cloths & hand towels a we had to keep asking for them. The use of the computer is a great benefit. The bay is just our favorite. We have been coming to Emerald Beach for the last 8 years for our anniversary. We hope to go next year!

I just returned from spending 3 nights here in St. Thomas. The hotel was nice, however there is no elevator for those not appreciating climbing 2-3 flights of stairs to get to their room after a long day on the beach, with luggage, or after a full meal. The restaurant service left much to be desired. We waited nightly to get a table on the patio for long lengths of time despite open tables in view. There were a lot of disgruntled guests each night. Service at breakfast was horrid when ordering off the menu...as if they didn't have a clue unless one ordered the buffet. The food was decent, however high priced. The drinks were good, but seemingly either strong or lacking the prescribed alcohol. If you want to rent a pedal boat or other item, make sure you do it early in the day. We returned to the hotel at 2:30 PM one afternoon with the plan to rent a pedal boat, though the man operating the stand had gone home early. The view from the room balcony was ideal for viewing sunsets. Expect to pay for a taxi to go anywhere, including the nearby airport.

My husband and I booked this hotel online based on the price and it being on the beach. We walke to the hotel from the airport, it wasn't even a half mile walk. We had to wait a little bit to get into our room. We were in the third building on the third floor and it was a wonderful view. The hotel room was fantastic. The bedding, tv, toilet, sink, etc were all modern and up-to date and looked practically new. Each day we had a either just enough towels or too many. If you do not want to be disturbed put the sign outside the door or you might get a knock for towels, etc. The staff were all friendly. We were here during the off season so there were never that many people on the beach using the chairs or in the water. The water was beautiful and the perfect temperature. It is a bay so there aren't huge waves. Our biggest complaint would be the food at this hotel. The first night we ate at the hotels restaurant. We got the lasagna which I did not like and the chicken fettuccine alfredo which tasted fishy to me. After this we did find out that we could sit at the bar and get food off the bar menu. We did not want to eat pricey huge meals every single night or pay for a taxi to town. One other complaint was I got a lot of large bug bites. I'm not sure where or how, but my husband did not get any. We did not rent snorkeling gear, but used our own goggles instead to see the fish in the water. Overall, it was a great time and place to stay!
