This hotel was fantastic. I honestly can think of only one judicious word of warning: if you are still in your room when the maids come 'round and have to send them away, they may not come back that day. The desk staff was helpful, extremely polite, and happy to speak to me in either French or English (their English was notably very good). Ordered breakfast one morning, it was on time and fresh, hot things hot, cold things cold. For folks who don't know Paris, the location is convenient for any number of monuments/ museums, and anyway, there's a Metro station across the street.

We stayed at K / K July 09 for almost a week. Location is ideal, as its 5 minutes from the Seine, and if you cross Pont Royal, you are at the Louvre courtyard / Garden Tuileries / Carousel in another 3 minutes. Metro across the street. And yes, the Shell station is convenient, but so many better places to grab something. Around the corner is a great little boulangerie; awesome. We bought two pain, 2 pain au chocolat, and 2 croissants for about 5 euro's. Back to the Hotel. OK, there was no concierge, but the staff suited our needs well. On only one occasion of two dozen did they not have our key in hand as we entered. Very friendly, and helpful. We may have a unique perspective; being originally from NYC then moving Upstate (Upstate NY, for non NY'ers), we can relate to the average traveler, with NYC savvy. Here's the deal; Be polite and considerate, and be treated similarly. Not from NYC? You will do fine. Parisians are like any other large city dwellers. Busy. But ask for directions, help, and they are all but too happy. If you're from NYC, you will understand. So, if you are a first time visitor to Paris, or just want a convenient location, this is the place. Clean, great locale, helpful and friendly staff!

The hotel is very nice with decent sized rooms. The staff was out standing. From the bellhop to the front desk to the bar, everyone was friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. The location is excellent, only steps away from the Rue Bac metro stop. There are also several good local cafes and it's centrally located to the sights of the city.

We arrived at the hotel after taking a ridiculous journey on the metro -- lots of changing stations from CDG. {We took a cab back to the airport when we left!} The concierge seemed friendly, but laughed at me when I asked if we could have a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Basically, if you book online, don't expect to be treated as well as other guests who booked straight through the hotel. They seem to frown online folks a little bit. But even with that said, they act polite and helpful for much of our stay there. The room was very clean, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job while we were away during the day. There was some street noise because our room had a big window that looked out on Rue du Bac, and you could hear/feel the rumble from the metro. But, we still slept very well and sheer exhaustion from walking across the city every day}. By far this hotel's biggest perk is its location. The metro station out front is invaluable! Hop on there and you can quickly get to Plaza Concorde, and from there you can walk down the Champs Elysees all the way to the Arc de Triomphe, or go in the opposite direction through the Tulieres Gardens to the Louvre. You can ride to Montmartre, or catch a connection and walk out right in front of the Eiffel Tower. We walked from here to the Rodin Museum, Dome Monument, and Les Invalides. We also walked to Musee D'Orsay and the Seine is just a quick stroll away. Great location!!! Overall, we would stay there again.

Read all of the reviews before booking at the K and K. The best thing about the hotel is the metro station literally 20 steps away from the front entrance. Made it very convienient when arriving in Paris and when we got tired from walking and wanted to get back to the room quick. The front desk staff was nice, spoke English. Did not check out the fitness facilities because we got our workout walking all over Paris. Room was small, but probably standard size for European rooms. Shelll station next door for inexpensive sodas, water, and snacks.
