The K&K Hotel Fenix was mostly good. The room was quite large by European or even American standards. The staff were mostly helpful, though occasionally there were touches that remind you Czechs are not that much into a service culture. I don't much care for the idea of a double bed being two single beds pushed together. But the only real problem (not a deal breaker) was the lack of storage space--there wasn't a real dresser in the room and so we had to live out of suitcases for a relatively long stay (9 nights). There were a few other things that might irritate some. First, as others have mentioned, there are two sex nightclubs on the street. In fact, however, these really weren't a bother. Generally, it was very quiet when one was inside the hotel. Second, of the three computers available to hotel guests, one remained broken for the entire stay, belying the note on it saying it would be fixed shortly. Also, one computer was located in a very hot and airless small space. Third, and this will not matter to all, the coffee at breakfast was truly awful--oily and tasting as if it had been brewed hours earlier and left on a hot plate. Finally, it was impossible to use a calling card with the hotel phone--the reasons for that remain unclear. Still and all, it was a perfectly fine hotel; we had a great rate and liked staying there.

The K&K Hotel was perfect. Location is just a block off Wenceslas Square, and 2 blocks from the Muzeum Metro. The hotel is modern, clean, well-appointed, and includes free wired Internet. The included buffet breakfast was excellent. Service was great. I would stay there again.

The main positives of this hotel is it's location close to Wenceslas square, the free breakfast, and the free internet. The rooms are comfy and the hotel is clean, but I think they control the room temperatures even though you have a thermostat in your room. At night it's annoying to be hounded by cabaret doormen on the way to the hotel but it's no big deal. When first checking in there were two women at the front desk who seemed a bit snobbish. After a few days in Prague encountering very cold and rude females from young girls serving pizza to old ladies at museum entrances I later realized the women at the front desk were comparatively pleasant. Strangely the men in Prague seemed to be quite polite. Must be a cultural thing.
