Great location-about 2 blocks from San Pietro's Piazza; some rooms have a view of the cupola of the Vatican. About 5 block walk to the closest subway station; 3 blocks to buses. Very nice wooden floors and furniture. Beds hurt our lower back. Rooms in the corner have basically no shower; the cloth curtain sticks to you while showering. Breakfast is decent. Desk staff are either nice or rude. Internet access is good but they only have one computer so there can be a line to use it. Room cleaners kept moving our bathroom things around and threw one of our items out (probably on accident). Would probably stay there again.

The hotel and service was great with the exception of being overcharge at the hotel restaurant, so pay attention to your bill, the older waiter/ host is the one that was a bit rude to us and to other americans that were there, but other than him everyone else was very polite , the staff was always welling to help. What I like about the hotel was our room had a good view of The Vatican, The room was clean, the Breakfast was very good specially the wheat croissants,The Hotel is only a few block away from the Vatican and a few blocks from the bus station. I will be honest and say I didn't get to use the bus station as I had booked several tours when I was there and that took most of my time wile there, For places to eat around there I recommend 2 places one is on the same street as the hotel is called Station Pizza is a small family owned, the pizza is very good, fresh and very cheap, the lady there was so nice to us every time that we walked by she was always happy to see us. anyways I liked it because is very authentic if you want pasta I recommend Osteria dei Pontefici is a well known and a lot of priest from the Vatican go there . if you make a left as you exit the hotel to the end of the street make another left and walk about 2 to 3 blocks it should be at your left hand side with a red awning, Overall my experience was great, My Mother and I felt very safe and had no problems we will gladly go back again and stay at the same hotel.

Hotel is very close to the Vatican, so if that is a major part of your trip, put this on your short list of hotels to consider. Room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and spoke English well. The one major downside is that it was 30 Euro to take a taxi from Termini Station since it is on the other side of the city. We found the bus system easy to use for sight-seeing around the city, so the distance of the hotel was not an issue once we were checked in. The 'business center' was just one computer in a back hall, but internet access was available for .35 Euro/minute... a bit pricey, but fine for quick e-mail updates. Lots of dining options available within walking distance.

This hotel is located very close to the Vatican (within walking distance if you are in shape for walking). Our flight arrived early in the morning. I was hoping for an early check in... The staff was wonderful. We arrived at the hotel well before the check in time, but they had a room ready for us. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke English clearly. We had no communication problems with anyone there. The room was non-smoking, very clean with luxurious bath amenities. The bed was very comfortable. This was a superior double. Keep in mind that once you arrive in Rome, the hotel rooms are not quite what you may be accustomed to here in the states. Tthen again, that's why we travel...to experience different cultures. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome who wants to be in close proximity to the Vatican/St. Peter's.

The Michelangelo Hotel was an excellent experience. Hotel location is superb, you can walk to the Vatican and there are many restaurants in the inmediate area. Hotel personnel was great. Breakfast buffet was most satisfying. A truly great stay at a great hotel.
