I like the spaciousness and location of this hotel. They used to have a great fitness facility and tennis courts but they did away with the tennis and relocated the gym, which is terrible - way too small, old equipment and downright uncomfortable to workout there. The food prices in their restaurants are way too expensive. If you have the misfortune of needing to make calls using the hotel phone you will be sorry. I made a call 12 minute to Europe and was charged over $80 US dollars.

This Camino Real is conveniently located to businesses in Polanco area. It was a quick walk to my client's office. Though this can be a **** hotel with its appearance/touch of luxury here and there, the furniture and carpet seem to have past its replacement date and look a little dated. Because of its location, it is a very busy hotel. I experienced a long check-out at noon. The staff is exceptionally courteous and attentive. The taxi is highly inflated at 270 peso to airport and 180 peso to Zocalo.

If you are going to Mexico City to view the visual art, the Camino Real is the place to stay. The famed Mexican architect, Ricardo Leggoretta, has created a spatially fascinating hotel, with areas of light and color that must be experienced and which do not translate into catalogues or two dimensional photographs. His architecture, plus the Rufino Tomayo mural and other works of art inside the hotel, made this a premier trip for me and my daughter.

We recently stayed at the Camino Real on vacation and were impressed by the design of the hotel. Our room was larger than what you normally find in a big city hotel and the service was good. Since we had a low rate, they put us in the rooms closest to the street so try to get a room further in the hotel if you can. Once the front desk saw we had the Travelcoty rate, we were assessed a US$11 per day service fee so don't be surprised. The services included paper, Internet access, parking (?) and late check out. All in all, a great hotel for exploring the city.
