My husband, 14 yr old daughter and I went here Thanksgiving week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- since we were only there 4 days, it was the perfect place to just hang out and veg. The staff was more than friendly. The rooms and grounds were clean and beautiful. The food was excellent and plentiful. I was glad that we upgraded to the Ambassador Suite when we arrived- much more room. We wanted the presidential suite, but one was not available. There was always chairs at both the beach and pools. We were not at all pressured from the time-share people. An added plus is the location- The La Isla outdoor mall is right across the street. A great place to go and walk around and browse all the shops- plus it had 2 Starbucks, much to my husbands delight! Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a relaxing vacation, without too many frills. P.S.- the Italian restaurant requires men to wear slacks and women to wear skirts/dresses- unfortunately, we had neither. So be sure to pack them!

We liked this hotel a lot during out stay end of October 2009. Among positives are great staff attitude, amount of staff, quality and variety of food (different quisine every meal) and drinks, good entertainment staff, good facilities, cleanliness, beach is great, pools are nice and clean, facilities are pretty nice. Negatives are bad sound proofing in the rooms. Lack of ability to regular temperature inside room. Overall, we definitely recomend this place. If you have more money than you might want more luxury that this hotel does not offer. What you will find in the hotel is worry free, quality stay of great value for the money. Weather in the end of October was amazing great - 85F, low humidity and slight wind from the sea. Amazing!

We arrived and were checked in right away. This was the best part of the vacation. I traveled with my spouse and three children ages 4, 10 and 16. Hotel advertised as having childrens activities. NOT true, there was nothing for my kids to do. The kids pool was gross. It was always dirty and the water was cloudy. One day I had to ask three times to get some one over to skim the 'crud' from the pool. The food was a bit too eccentric for me. The kids had to get by on cereal for breakfast and dinner and burgers during the day from the snack bar. We needed housekeeping during the night due to a sick child, it took three calls to get someone to respond to our request for services. They advertise non motorized activities included....there aren't any on site. We had to pay for a bus to another hotel about 10 minutes away...This is not convenient at all. The onsite store had little to offer, so we found ourselves at La Isla almost every day. Don't waste your money here, stay elsewhere. My kids were limited to a dirty pool, lack of food and no activities. And the time share sales pitches were constant. I told the same person NO every single day. One NO should have been sufficient.

When I was booking my trip I did extensive research to make sure that I picked a decent hotel. I am glad that I picked this hotel because it was very good for the money. The buffet wasn't excellent but it was good. The pools where clean, the bars where clean, service was excellent. When we first arrived there was a lady who wanted us to sit down and discuss time shares but we politely declined and they left us alone for the rest of the trip. The rooms were good and they were cleaned fairly early. We never had any problems with disturbances or anything of the sort. The location was excellent as well because the bus stop was right outside the hotel maybe a 5 minute walk and the hotel is located across the street from a mall with an ATM. One of the first things that I noticed when we went out to the beach was that there were plenty of beach chairs to sit on! Overall I would go back to this hotel!
