  Over all, our experience was positive. The hotel accommodations for the price were a good value with one exception. The hotel had a restaurant inside, and all of the cooking odors went into all of the rooms. We were on the third floor and could smell the bacon, burgers, fries, and onions in our room whenever they cooked. The hotel lobby and stairwell were especially odorous. We are not sure if they had a proper vent system. The room service was adequate, but could be improved with more detail spent on cleaning. The complementary breakfast was excellent!

  We booked our stay at the Super 8 on Douglas Street in Victoria, knowing nothing about where it was located or where exactly we would be visiting and it turned out to be perfect. The hotel was located in the center of our activities, easy to locate, somewhat difficult to access. The staff was extremely friendly, greeted me by first name upon my return to the hotel from dinner across town. The Continental Breakfast was extremely lavish with lots of choices, including fruit, danishes, toast, cereal (hot and cold), tea, coffee, juices, etc. Our room was very clean, but the view outside our window was less than exciting, although it did look out over the parking lot. The prices were reasonable and in view of other choices I had previously reviewed, they were very good. Should we ever be in Victoria again, we would certainly stay at this hotel.

  Noisy location, building is older wood-frame and you can hear neighboring suites clearly. even though it was a non-smoking room we could still smell smoke.

  After reading the above review I booked. The carpet in the room was filthy. The maid service very poor. The 60's resteraunt was awful. Service bad. The price for the room condition was way to high. The eating area (pub) was good service was great. Staff friendly. The only good thing was the front desk clerks.

  The elevator was smaller than most hotel coat racks. The room a/c unit ran hard all night, but the heat from the hall and gap below the door neutralized its cooling affect. I later blocked the gap under the door with a pillow and towels. That worked well. The room was fine for the price. It was nice to have the mini fridge, microwave, coffee and toaster. We rode motorcycles and the desk staff let us park in the spaces by the front door. That was very nice.
