Stayed 12/1 to 12/5 would not stay again. Reserved two rooms – one was ready the other wasn’t – told it would be by 3pm – at 3 told it would be ready by 5pm (maybe)! Had to settle for a low floor room with no view even thought we prepaid for a high floor with strip view. No compensation from hotel – told to take it up with Travel online! Forced to pay resort fee – even thought the pool was closed for maintenance – spoke to a manager and he said the fee is NEVER waved, he said a lot of the hotels are now charging the resort fee but he failed to mention that the other hotels are also owned by the group that owns the Monte Carlo. He did offer comp meals at the Buffet Restaurant for our party of four. Dinner was terrible so we ended up going elsewhere - Rooms were just OK. Had to search out a paper each day – they are available in the lobby of each floor for as long as they last! Staff wasn’t very friendly, at check out we complained again about the resort fee and the poor room location and the desk clerk’s comment was true enough – – honest but not too polite! With all of the other hotel options in Vegas and with 1.3 million visitors less this year there are better hotels and deals to be had. I would check all the others before returning to the Monte Carlo!

For the most part the Hotel was nice, the rooms were clean, and the resort was neat and well kept. However I was bothered by the fact that there was a separate daily fee of $* +tax that was not disclosed when I booked the room. Its not a lot and I would have most likely still booked the room if it had been disclosed, its just the principle of it. I ate at three different restaurants at the resort and my experince was the food was over priced and the staff at all of them (including the food court) was unattentive and slow. The restaurants weren't busy either. Where the restaurant staff lacked the rest of the staff made up.

Lets see, the bathtub didn't drain for about an hour, both the phone and the alarm clock made loud buzzing noises throughout the night. The message light stays on all the time no matter what u do. They took my towels one day and didn't replace them until 24 hours later. Lots of construction workers and construction noise inside the casino and food area due to 8 billion dollar City Center being built next door. They charged me an extra $* at check in, saying that I probably wouldn't have been notified of the charge and if it was OK if they added it to my bill...??? I could go on about the dilapidated facilities but I'll just leave it at that.

My wife and I were in LV to see Cher, and wanted a decent hotel within walking distance to CP. 4 or 5 hotels, including the MC, fit our price range, and having never stayed there before, we figured we'd take a plunge. We are very fortunate we did! Got there at about 11AM, and within minutes we were checked in and in our room. A reasonable priced upgrade was purchased at the desk, putting us in a Monaco suite. FABULOSO!!! Had a problem with the safe- maintenance was there quickly to resolve it. Requested more towels, since had the whirlpool tub- housekeeping had them there pronto. Security was great, the facility was clean, housekeeping did a fantastic job. Only real problem was a slow sink, but we never called to get that resolved, figuring it was due to construction next door on the new Aria. In the casino, we played mostly black jack, and I played some craps, too. There were three specific dealers that were just a blast to play with. If for no other reason, because of these wonderful ambassadors, we will go back to the Monte Carlo.

I was so disappointed with my recent stay at Monte Carlo. What happened to the customer service?? Don't bother calling front desk because no one seems to answer the phone. This was so annoying when you're trying to request a late check out and you're on the 31st floor. We were promised 2 bottled waters a day and I had to track down maid service to get them because they weren't in our room and again, no one answers the front desk phone. Also had to track down the maid to get a Do Not Disturb sign because it wasn't in the room. We were promised $* drink credits and I just noticed that neither the restaurant nor the hotel honored that credit when they gave us our bill at check out. I used to stay here on business trips and never had a problem but this last stay convinced me that it's time to try other hotels in Vegas.
