We stayed at the Village room so we could be right at the Village rather then a shuttle ride. While they did advertise it as a hotel room, I found it very uncomfortable. There were two queen beds that were fine but they left the room so narrow it was difficult to move around, unpack, get dressed, etc. The bathroom is so small you can't even dry off from the shower. That was the biggest disappointment. They advertised a lot more snow then there was so many areas on the hill weren't yet open. Many of the stores/dining weren't open yet either so there was limited activities and everything in the village closes early so there is little to do and not many options offered. After Christmas sounds like more will be available but having everything ready Christmas week was my expectation. The ameneties were not very nice or convenient. The rec center with the pools and hot tubs were out of the way and I didn't feel they were warm enough or very clean. The adult quiet area was sparse and the fireplace wasn't even on. I want to read in front of the fire but it was not inviting and the TV there is so small it wasn't conducive for going to watch football games. The gym was nice. There really was no central lobby area and getting information on services were limited. The front desk people were not qualified for concierge ideas and follow up was bad. Issues were small, needed hangers and waited, TV didn't work and waitied until next morning for repair. Telephone wouldn't dial out, not enough plugs convienently located in the room for chargers. If I were to do it again I would have gone to Breckenridge or South Tahoe.

Could never reach the fron desk after 62 times of trying to complain that Our room was not made up. When they finally called us back after we left a nasty message, they came in and left sheets and towels on our bed and did not even do it for us. No coffe was left either after asking for it , they said they couldn't find it. To hush us up they try to give us a starbucks comp tag, which we used because we wanted coffee, not because we love starbucks..

We stayed in a 2 BR/2Bath condo at Gold Bend. Wonderful location, comfortable condo, really nice facilities, amenities and family had a great time. Skiing at Northstar was trememdous...good variety and challenge and snow conditions. Close to skiing and also to downtown Truckee with greating eating establishments. Outdoor pool and hot tubs were wonderful at end of day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Resort with great amenities half hour from Reno Airport. 10 minutes from from Kings Beach, shops and restaurants of Truckee, CA. Self contained resort though and no need to leave premises for most desired products, activities, etc. Would be great place for ski vacation. Our visit was in off-season. Will return for ski trip.
