I traveled in June 2008 with my my mom, sister n law and neices to the Great Parnassus. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were nice and spacious. The pool was small and the beach seemed non existent. The food was boring and bland. The childrens area was on the opposite end of the resort and we were not comfortable leaving the children that far away from the adult pool. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Went to this resort June 2009, was not very pleased. Food was marginal at best, the room was HOT!! My kids got a creepy fungus on their feet from the pool. Not to mention we had a cell phone and money stolen from our room and staff was not helpful. The beach is the WORST in Cancun. I have been 10 times and I will NEVER stay here again..

Our family group of 7 people (included 2 kids, 2 teens, and 1 senior) stayed at Great Parnassus Resort for one week (6/23-6/30/09). Our overall impression of this hotel is just average (scoring between 2 to 3 stars, where 1 stands for worst and 5 stands for best). Let us start with the negatives first. The gourtmet dining experience is somewhat average (the service time per gourmet meal served is about 1 to 1 1/2 hour long; the foods are salty and menus are same everynight). The buffet service is also average -- few varieties of foods served during our stay and also were very salty. The variety shows are okayed. The room-cleaning service is very poor (sometimes rooms did not get clean until we called to complain). The beach front of this hotel is filled with rocks, so we had to go to the adjacent hotel's beachfront (namely, Hilton Hotel) to swim. The central air conditioning made noise when it was turned on in our room. Now let us go into the positive experiences at this resort hotel. The front desk service is attentive, courteous, and responsive to our request or inquiry. The atmosphere at the reception hall (as well as in our hotel rooms) is very spacious and comfortable. The beverages including wine, beer, alcohol drinks are free and unlimited. The servers at the pools and restaurants are helpful and courteous. Our kids loved the swimming pools with the waterslides. As for us, we also enjoyed the sauna room and exercise room in the basement and the jacuzzi pool on the outdoor second floor. Tips: Bring a lot of singles and tip in advance when being served in the gourmet restaurants. Also, take the bus to go into the city -- for it is very cheap (about 7.5 peso).
