This resort is nice, stayed 4 night's...biggest impression, it's like a cruise ship, Vegas style! the hotel is very clean, staff well trained and friendly, rooms okay, pool is great, beach good... ...but the overall decor is Vegas with a designer that's had some tequila (maybe too much?)...apart from that everything is robotic, staged for the "guest"... Good food (perhaps the best option) is available at the buffet restaurant, the other options not so much. Preset seating times (like good cruise lines used to do) are staged at two intervals, lame at best...the menu's are uninspired with limited ordering options and are presented very factory assembly line like. One of my biggest peeves apart from the "specialty restaurant" food was the lack of choice of wine, I prefer to drink wine over anything else but there was simply no options...want to drink Johny Walker Red until the cows come home, no worries, shots of decent tequila, they'll line 'em up, vodka, umm ya had more than one...something past two buck chuck...good luck. I even asked if I could pay for a better bottle of wine at their best restaurant, La Toscana, the server was dumbfounded by my request... Over all, good but you just need to know what you are getting...

Just got back from RIu Palace Pacifico, our days there were October 15-22nd 2009. The hotel is just beautiful and the service was great! There were two of us that went and we got upgraded to a beautiful ocean view room for free. The hotel is huge and extremely clean. The food was pretty good, we enjoyed both buffets and restaurants. Our favorite was the Mexican restaurant, but each one that you walk into they hand you a specialty drink. Overall our experience here was just great, would go back in a heart beat!

My wife and I along with 12 other couples just stayed a week at the Riu Palace Pacifico. We were there from October 9th - 16th. Our 10 year wedding anniversary was on the 9th and the hotel staff brought us up some chocolate covered strawberries that were delicious. We also received an upgrade to our room. This place is fantastic, very clean. The staff works around the clock to keep this place spotless and it shows. The pool is beautiful and is very large. They said the hotel was full up when we arrived, but you would never have known it because the pool was never over crowded and we never had to wait to eat or anything. The sea turtles were coming into shore to lay their eggs and we were able to watch that. What an experience that was. We also saw several smaller manta-rays running about 4' out and parallel with the beach. The food was very good but did upset my stomach for about a day and a half. So be sure to take something with you to calm your stomach. As good as the food was, it is different than what we are used to in the U.S.. Also be sure to make your reservations for the fancier restaurants way ahead of time or those will be booked. They had tecate light in bottles and dos equis on tap. Stocked the room everyday with beer and there is a liquor dispenser in every room. One of the bartenders even jumped in a cab to go buy me a bottle of crown royal. They go above and beyond so be sure to tip them for all of their hard work. Room was great, but we didn't hang out in it much.

I just returned from 5 days in the first week of October. I love Mexico, P.V. is consistently a real good bargain. * for 2 people, 5 days, n.s. air, hotel, booze, food, entertainment. The hotel earns it's 4+ stars. Beautiful rooms. friendly staff. Hotel sits on a great beachThe beer, I love xx beer but not from a tap. Note: if you ask they have Tecate light in the bottle. Really good food even at the buffet. Note: if you like tacos they will make them. Make you premium restaurant reservations as soon as possible for all nights. The show at night was mildly entertaining. I always use a taxi for transfers because they are about the same price as the package deals and you don't have wait for a shuttle bus, I hate to wait or worry. The only down side was only 2 public bathrooms that for hundreds of people drinking? Chlorine to the rescue!

Just came home from 3 nights at the RIU Palace Pacifico. What a beautiful hotel. The service at the hotel was phenomenal. I've never felt so well taken care of. The pool grounds were amazing and there were plenty of activities to keep you busy throughout the day. The only let down for me was the food. For a 5 star resort, the food did not live up to the rest of the hotel. I only got to eat at one of the reservation restaurants (Steak house) and they served frozen vegetables and imitation crab. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel if you want a beautiful setting with great service.
