friendly, helpful staff, beautiful hotel, great conveniences, good location, a wonderful restaurant, beautiful and artistic interior decoration, a state of the art gym, a rooftop pool and lounge which looks like a backdrop for vogue magazine, and great desk space in the room to work or charge your phone. it makes other hotels seem outdated.

Front Desk was very friendly and informative. Finding the ice machine was like going through a maze of hallways, took forever to find. Rooftop scene during the day: overcrowded, expensive/ordinary pool food, smallest pool ever...and those waterbed pods that look so awesome online? they werer allllways occupied and extremmmely dirty inside, ew. Rooftop Bar/Lounge at night: Because of the parking and entry costs, you will spent * before you even get up to the rooftop. Security is on a maaaajor power trip, and even though we were hotel guests, we were made to wait. And if you have a group that has more than one guy in it? Forget about getting in...so ridiculous for a bar. After finally getting up to the rooftop the atmosphere was just a complete disappointment. The people who were there seemed to be under the false impression that their sh*t doesn't stink if you get what I mean, even for LA. The drinks are overpriced, about $12-15 for a mixed drink. honestly, i've had some better priced drinks and atmosphere at a trendy sunset in hollywood club. Do not be lured in by the Standard's persona they've created. Online the pictures are absolutely breathtaking (the view, the rooms, etc), but up close? Cheap, dirty, and wayyyyyy smaller than they lead you to believe. Overall, don't waste your time, energy and money on this mess of a place.

I really enjoyed staying here. My sister and I had to go down to LA for a concert and the last time we went we ended with the tiniest room, so going for a second time, we did have the greatest expectations. But our room was really nice and the staff was really friendly. The only word of advice, Don't ask the people at the main desk for directions. We asked how to get to Hollywood Bowl and they gave the most random directions that we where almost late for the concert. But other than that, very nice. Definitely staying there next year ^_^

  • Not that great.

i was a little disappointed in the hotel. it said it was modern and chic, but the interior looked cheaply decorated, and the charge was way too much for the room we got. the restaurant was not impressive, a very small unappetizing menu. but the decoration looked like the ikea catalogue, nothing to be impressed by. parking was ridiculous, altough thats to be expected in LA, and the people at the front desk were not inviting.
